Job chosen- Web Designer
I chose this job because I want to learn more about web design; I also want to find out the positives and negatives of the job and how much money you would earn on average. I also think I would enjoy doing a job such as web design.
Creating websites is more fun and varied than some of the other digital media jobs
The job is well paid and interesting. I would get a great deal of satisfaction at producing websites for business, individuals and companies.
Job would be challenging and ever changing.
Web designers are responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of a website. This role may overlap with that of a Multimedia programmer and web architect. Using a combination of graphic design skills and technical knowledge of how web pages are created, the work involves:
• liaising closely with a customer or client at the design stage and finding the answers to questions about why the site is needed, who the target audience will be, who the leading competitors are, etc;
• producing a design that will be attractive to the target user, has a logical navigation system and has all the features required;
• writing web pages in a combination of codes, such as HTML and XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Action script, Cold Fusion, .Net, Flash, or using code-generating programs, such as Dream weaver and Visual Studio;
• deciding on how images and other material will be digitally optimised and presented for the web;
• ensuring that material on the web site is accessible to all groups including those with disabilities;
• testing the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions;
• fixing errors.
Web designers will have knowledge of graphic design packages such as Fireworks or Photoshop in order to produce basic layout and manipulate images. Skills in e-commerce and server side technologies, such as PHP and .Net, and internet security are also important. As users gain faster access to the internet via broadband, web designers with skills in multimedia and interactivity are likely to be in greater demand.

Today in college we made a Wordle with lots of words related to our assessment. I had to do them on skills that a web designer would do.
We then used Adobe Photo shop CS2 to edit a class photo and make our
self stand out.

Today in college we had a woman come in and talk to us about sexual child abuse, we were put into groups of two and had to do a questionnaire which then lead to us having a discussion. We were then given an exercise to write about which type of job we would like to lead on to do from studying digital media at college. I have chosen to Write about Web Designers.

Today in college we had a PC Passport assessment which we had been revising for, for the last two weeks. I scored 10/15 which i was very happy with because i passed:. we then had web design where we created an image for the top section of our websites using adobe photoshop CS2. I used cartoons to create my top image.

Today in college we made a mind map on BUBBL the website. The mind map was on web design development.

An animator is an artist who creates multiple images called frames and Key frames that form an illusion of movement called animation when rapidly displayed. Animators can work in a variety of fields including film, television, video games, and the internet. Usually, an animation piece requires the collaboration of several animators. The methods of creating the images or frames for an animation piece depend on the animators' artistic styles and their field.
Other artists who contribute to animated cartoons, but who are not animators, include layout artists (who design the backgrounds, lighting, and camera angles), storyboard artists (who draw panels of the action from the script), and background artists (who paint the "scenery"). Moreover, voice actors, musicians and other talent may be added as necessary to give the animation additional depth.
Someone would get the qualifications to become a film animator by going to college, university or trying to find a job within a company that does film animation.
You could progress by learning more software packages and to greater proficiency. You could project manage the development of animations. You could also become a senior animator who might help out other animators or junior trainee animators.

Today in college we had an assessment in hardware and systems. We were given a load of Microsoft Word information on Friday about different parts inside computers. We were to revise this information over the weekend which i did. We the had the assessment this afternoon which i just found out i PASSED!:). Today we had another assessment on 3 different jobs that we could lead to from doing a digital media course.
